Yes they are, but go to a reputable breeder, any breed of dog can have problems, even mongrels...i wish people would stop picking on this breed, they really dont deserve it.

I dont think guest was "picking on" the breed, just asking a simple question!
yes, bulldogs can have many problems, so its important to find a really good breeder who has a track record of producing good, healthy, health tested bulldogs, preferably born via natural births if possible. Im sure someone on here will be able to point you in the right direction.
Wish you luck in your search :-)

The guest was not picking on the breed. Instead of jumping to the conclusions, why not be helpful and go through the problems they do have? If there are health 'myths' now is your chance to put them straight.

Hi it depends what your looking for
They are a wonderful breed but you could have one that might have bad skin/bad breathing/lame/doesnt want to walk to much
But in most cases you will get a happy healthy pup they can all get skin sores in the summer months but that can be seen to with the help of your breeder they can have some thing called cherry eye which would need the help of a good bulldog friendly vet they are not to keen on hot weather (mine do like to sun bath ) but not humid heat, they do like there walks when old enough mine dont go out for walks until about 4/5 months old then only very short ones i do take mine to training club so they get to see lots of others
I dont like to see them being pulled about by children but saying that they love humans, pick your breeder well!!! as pups they are mad and drive you up the wall as they never stop running around the garden and house ,if you need info a good site is
