Just a  quick question do cats go grey with age?
Neither of mne have; although they are mostly white around the face area. But I can't recall ever seeing a "grey faced old cat" ;)
P.S.
I know their tummy's go baggy with age :)

The coloured part (iris) of their eyes also goes a bit strange - like an old mirror :)   My burmese is 171/2 and still the same colour as when a year old apart from the eyes which are beginning to have strange sparkly bits in the iris.  I can't say I've ever seen a "grey faced old cat" either

You're right I never noticed that about the eyes before but now you mantion it.... :)

Our cat is a 13 year old tortie, and she has no grey hairs.

my tortoiseshell coloured cat never went grey with age she was a lively 17 year old who was a bright and beautifull as she was as a kitten when died the two cats I have now are grey so I guess I will never know :-)

My baby who was nearly 23 when she died 2 years ago, other than losing a few teeth and her eyes sort of looking watery, was never gray and she was all black with a bit of white. I still miss her and think she is going to walk into the room. I can still smell her nice smell too sometimes when I go upstairs where she spent her last few months as the stairs were too much for her.

My two are 22 in Oct, so I figure if they were going to go grey they would have done already. So maybe
it' s not just mine who don't need the "grecian 2000" then ;)

Lovely isnt it to have your babes for a long time. And she was a big baggy round the middle for such a small cat. :) And we never seem to take them for granted either. I used to have to inject my other cat for 4 years with insulin but she died when she was 10. Their ashes are now side by side in two little urns as I cant bear to leave them behind as we move house.

Yes my two are now offically "bagpusses" :) they are much loved and although they are slowing down they are "quick" to point out loudly) when they think they have been "excluded" from anything interesting taking place in the family.
Cats with attitude is what my brother in law calls them. :)

yep cats do go grey it depends on the colour , strange enough my black cat now 18 has gone chocolate brown strange isent it
My white one aged 17 hasent changed colour  ,never pure white like his kitten days thou :D  mabe thats because hes always in mud and brushing up against car exsuasts :D

my 16 year old cat hasnt gone grey, but she lost a few teeth, and quite skinny.

Hmm sorry to be sad but cats just be cats until one day they just don't.  Cats in my experience don't go grey or grow old.  They just one day in their lifes just cease to be.  I actually think they've got it right.

i have cats both middle aged and no grey hairs yet.one is a tortie the other black & white.
in the pass i grew up with a pure white,tabby,blacks none with grey but coat changed with age.

my nans black cat had a few grey hairs here and there when he got older , but my black cat has gone chocolate :D hes got really long hair and used to be jet black . I used to have a tabby no grey there and a blue and a tan persian no grey hairs either
