hello i hope someone can shed some light of my dogs strange behaviour, when i walk him, he runs around, and then all of a sudden drops down/collapses, i call him to get up but he seems almost frozen, then after a couple of minutes he will get up and be totally fine, this has happened lots of times, sometimes ive had to get help to carry him home, (he is a very large weim).
Please help, i dont know whats wrong with him!??

Sounds like a fit to me - stop walking him and get him to the vet asap. Good luck.
My dog does this when she is very hot and tired, usually after a manic ball throwing session. I would take him to the vet to rule out any problems though and try and keep him reasonably calm in the meantime.

sound like the heart to me,get him to the vet asap, donot wait for it to happen again, beacuse he may not come out of it.
I agree, there is probably something not right here; get him to the vet and get some tests done!

There is defiantly something not right, dogs should not drop down no matter how much rushing about they have done, if a dog is tired it stops, it does not collapse. Please take the dog to the vet, I would go more for a condition that was robbing the brain of oxygen rather than a fit but I am not there and I am not a vet so that is the best place to be with any sick dog, at the vets. If it is something like epilepsy the vet will not be able to give a firm diagnoses but will probably give you tablets to see if the condition improves.
Good luck and hope your dogs condition is diagnosed and sorted soon. Why not join the forum so you can let us know how things go, it will help others to know what the problem is and how it is treated, you did not say how old the dog was and there are loads of question I would like to ask you, so please join if only to have our support.

I hate to say it but when I was a teenager I had a young spaniel pup that did the same. He had turned out to have heart problems unfortunately.
