can a jack Russell enter a pedigree class at an exemption show?

Don't know the ins and outs of exemption shows but would presume as long as he is Kennel Club registered I don't think there will be a problem

Parson Russelll yes, Hunt terriers or the terrier crosses often lumped together as Jacks No!

Dogs need not be registered with the kennel club to enter an exemption show. So yes your Jack Russell can enter.

Agreed, Registeration is not needed for any dog to compete in any classes, Pedigree or whatever at an Exemption but any dog should look like it's breed. A few years ago anything small and black, white and tan in colour was called a JR. Now there is a breed standard the dog, in order to stand any chance should look like the standard. After all, the judge, just like at any other show is supposted to judge to the standard.

It has to be a breed that has a breed standard to be able to be entered in the pedigree classes.

no it doesnt as long as it is a pedigree whether registered or not. So a jack russell can be shown as can any other breed no requirement for it to be recognised. Of course the judge may not know what the hell it is but you pays your money and takes your chances!

Thought all pedigree dogs had a breed standard if not how do you know what breed it is? Jackie H

exactly! Even those breeds not recognised by the KC tend to have their own breed clubs and standard!

As the owner of a JrX who looks like a jr{not parsons though!} she has entered MANY exemption shows .
I have seen some shown in the sporting class but very few got placed unless the entry was poor.
I have always put her in best cross breed classes and she has won over 20 of them!!!!! winning me some fantastic rosettes and prizes{puts champshow prizes to shame}
