please please can someone help me i have sky digital and have been trying to tape the golf and rugby for dad.... dont know how to set video up to tape tried alsorts just tapes nothing ......????? do i need to set it to a certain number ..??
Hoping that the sky channel has actually been tuned into your video - switch the video on...press 1, 0, 9 or AV1/2 on your telly remote - these are the 'usual' numbers on your telly remote that should allow your to view you TV station through your video. You will know that you are actually viewing your TV through the video by pressing the video remote control numbers and coming up with the matching channel. ie If your sky IS tuned into your video...than as you keep selecting each number, one by one on your Video remote...you will come across the SKY channel.
If you can't find sky through your video remote...then unfortunatley, you'll need to 'tune' it in from scratch.
I really hope that you can understand this sorry !
Someone else will hopefully have a stab at explaining a little more clearly ;)
Good luck

I have never mastered it either. I can find the channel through the video and press record while watching, this is ok. But to set the timer to veiw a channel on sky, no chance. We have not got a separate arial which is where the problem lies.
If anyone has cracked it I would be very grateful to find out.

We have our system connected via a booster so we can watch tele upstairs if you follow all the installation guides picking the best for your set up no problems. I have sky programmed in to my video on channel 6 so i can actually watch sky through my video just like the other channels. its easy to do just like when you do it for your other channels. I also can record from downstairs upstairs ytoo via the booster as i have a tv/video combi i use channel 9 this is programmed to the video channel downstairs but more importantly i can watch sky upstairs although i have to change the channel downstairs this means if im watching a film off sky box office i can actually record it upstairs to watch again. Most films send out a signal to main video to stop you recording them trying to make you pay again if you need to watch it again so that comes in handy

Rosie
You should be able to get what you need somewhere like Maplin.
Have you got the sky box and video connected by scart socket?

argos sell boosters. As for taping of select channels sorry you have to watch whats being recorded. If you want to record something on sky and watch a different channel than sky + is needed.
When we had regular Sky we could tape something on Sky and watch Terrestrial real time. Now we have Sky Plus it is brilliant you can watch something while taping another, and you can rewind the programmes (not just the taped ones, but regular TV) if you miss a bit, or start taping a film at 8pm and start watching it before it has finished taping, and it is all on a hard drive (I think!) so no need for videos any more, I can highly recommend it!!!
