Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Friend's dog and his girlfriend
- By Westie Fan [gb] Date 02.08.04 09:52 UTC
I have a friend (married male) who wants to introduce his dog to his girlfriend and he is concerned that the dog will take a liking to her and react strangely with is wife thereby giving his extra-marital fling away.  Without even getting into the moral issues of his fling, does a dog switch their affections between people that easily?

Regards

John

I just knew this would happen.... :-) Honest it is for a friend...

yeah yeah yeah they all say that LOL LOL .... perhaps you should remind your Friend that the wife always finds out.... cos the dog will tell her LOL

That's not so far from the truth if say, the wife and girlfriend happen to know each other! As the dog will get to know the other woman and show his affection for her probably and the wife may wonder why....may be best for your friend to stay on the straight and narrow if this is the case...

Also bear in mind that if the gf gets friendly with the dog, cuddling it etc.  Then it may well pick up some of her perfume - which will be instantly recognisable by the wife when she cuddles it...........

If friend wants girlfreind then simple divorce wife and he can do what he wants - no problem with dog then - unless wife wants to keep him!

Why are men such cowards???

Not sure if the dog will react oddly around the wife but might not like new girlfriend.  Quite some time ago my husband and I were visited by a female friend we had not seen for ages and after giving me a big hug she then hugged my husband and one of my dogs did not take kindly and promptly wedged herself in between them and tried to push hubby away. Oh dear, maybe I'm missing something here....

Only my opinion but your friend is playing a dangerous game.  I'd keep the dog out of it altogether.  Dogs and kids have an uncanny knack of always giving the game away (innocently of course :D).

"You mean, are dogs like men?" LOL Tohme!

"Why are men such cowards???"

Is that a riddle?   A: They're going through their 5th fear period.
B: They aren't neutered like all male dogs should be
                        C: They weren't trained properly
D: They need a prong collar
                        E: All of the above

JUST KIDDING GUYS! THIS IS ONLY A JOKE.

dogs are better than men .....lmao

1) dogs dont have problems expressing affection in public
2) dogs miss u when ur gone
3) dogs feel guilty when they have done something wrong
4) dogs admit when they are jelous
5) dogs do not play games with u ( only fetch )
6 ) you can train a dog
7) dogs are easy to buy for
8) the worst social disease u can get from dogs is fleas( OK, the worst one is rabies, but there is a vaccine for it and u can kill the ones who give it to u
9) dogs understand what no means
10) dogs mean it when they kiss u ....ha ha ha

I WONT CARRY THE LIST ON EH ????

If this was a friend of mine i wouldent bother helping him . of course i try to be moraly right . there is a point here the wife would smell the girl friends perfum on the dog hehe good job too cheating blah blah blah
All i can say is i hope his wife sniffs the problem out :D sorry westie man but i dont like cheats your friend of course could always try to get rid of the smell but women have a nack of smelling perfum no matter how light it is .lol
Folks its not about if this man has got guts . its the fact this mans a dirty perve who wants his cake and eat it , typical man huh

If your friend was any kind of a man instead of a wiss he would sort his problems out with his wife :( For any man to be able to do something like this is not a man and has alot of growing up to do  Just urks me when people can do this to their spouse, if things can't be worked out then end it and you both can get on with your life. A real man/women would be truthful, I feel sorry for the lady on the side cause those types of men usually end up cheating on them... Well guess she would deserve it since she is just as much to blame to go with someone like that, they deserve eachother......
