Em, try an on line virus scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
Or if it is giving you the name of the hijack programme, do a search and delete the files manually.
We got one a while back and they are the devil to get rid of.
Also chack your phone bill, firend at work had a £2000 phone bill with one of these things on his system, and BT want the money!
Also download 'Stinger' which should find it for you - do a search on google, in the meantime watch thet phone bill.
a follow on from Sharons post- check your internet connections -we had an extra one and a key was hijacked and we were dialling premium rate lines :(

If you do a search on the word trojan on here, you will find some helpful suggestions, as I did a couple of months ago.
My trojan dialler was in the restore files so every time I started my pc it came back. I think it was John who helped me.

You were probably told to switch off your system restore, then switch it back on again. It will delete any restore points, and also get rid of something that is lurking in your restore files.

I had that too a trojan downloader had found its way into my pc and AVG didnt detect it but my other new software did. It drove me crackers as i couldn't find it, the search facility couldn't find it either. I was just playing around with settings and went into drive C and there it was in one of the folders so i deleted it and it didn't come back. However my hard drive is now breaking up and i had to reformat pc and reload XP but not in the usual way so i could get back online. I don't know if its connected but get it off quick and make sure you update antivirus every day and make sure firewall is updated too. I need a new hard drive now so im going to upgrade other stuff as well while im at it but i will say i never had these problems before that little *********** crept through pc defenses
Another thing you could try - if you can remember the first time you were notified of the virus is do a search on you hard drive for any files created on a certain day - when ever it first appeared, there will probably be 30 or so - mostly temps, but delete anything suspicious (can't remember which type of file is a trogan suspect it is either .exe or .txt - better still send it to a floppy disk and then throw the disk away then it's off the machine for good.

PS got rid of the blaster virus this way that was a .txt file AVG did not find it either.
