My Ruby came in to season on the 06th July and a tie happended approx 09 and 11 days into season the about 10 days ago when will the vet be able to tell if she is pregnant or not she stopped bleeding the day after the tie.  what symptoms do I look for the last season she went clingy, on the want for food and heat teats went pink and bigger as did she look podgy underneath but she was not pregnant so what either signs should I be looking for.

hi,sounds like a good mating to me,your vet will be able to tell by scan at approx 4 weeks into pregnancy, this is the best way to find out as some bitches show signs of pregnancy when not.mine go off food approx 2/4 weeks after mating, also my bitch stopped bleeding completly after first mating and closed up too so i take this as a good sign, mine went onto have a lovely litter of nine, good luck and let us know, angie

have a look at this site, if you put the date of the mating in it will tell you when things should happen

Hi
My bitch had the same signs, went off her food and had a 'drip' of clearish discharge on her vulva after about two weeks. She was mated day 11 and bled for three days after so I didn't think she'd taken-just had a litter of six :)
Good luck xx
