My bc was in the vets today to have his undescended testicle removed.  The vets had checked it and it looked like it was right up by his abdomen which means bigger operation, longer recovery time and more cost (not that I begrudge it).  Got a phonecall from the vets to say all had gone well.  In fact when they had anaethestised (or however you spell) him the undescended one popped back down into its sack and they just did a usual castration.  Much cheaper!  Now thats what I call a dog who loves his owner!
