Hi
Over the past few days I have noticed that my 9 week old bitch puppy has been left with a thick yellow discharge hanging from her after she urinates.  Does anybody know what this is or what could be causing it.  She seems fine and healthy in herself and I wondered if this was a natural thing or not.  I am due to take her to the vet next week but wondered if anybody could shed some light on this.

This is quite normal and unless she is unwell does not need treatment for it.  It is hormonal and will go away as soon as she has her first season.  Please dont let your vet pump her full of drugs as this wont help.  If she doesnt keep herself clean just get a moist cotton pad and clean her up.
