I thought I would just share with you all that Max went to his first puppy class today. There were 6 pups there including max and 3 of the others were labradors!! Max was the only chocolate though. He was the youngest lab but the biggest by far. If I had got a pound for every time somebody had said to me 'wow he is going to be big, look at them feet!!!' I would be able to afford another puppy!! I must admit I was quite alarmed upon realising max was the youngest as the other labs were only a bit shorter but half the width and half the head and paw size!! Is it possible his dad was actually a great dane in disguise??? Anyway Max wore himself out in the first ten minutes trying to play with the others so then behaved wonderfully basically because he was shattered!! He did all his sits and downs first time and even acheived a perfect stay the trainer was thrilled and congratulated me on a well behaved pup so I didnt have the heart to tell her that he stayed because he just couldnt be pooped to get up. He was looking at me as if to say 'too right I am staying here I am worn out' Anyway I came away confident he will do well there. Everybody was friendly and the trainer was very interested in all the dogs and explained things well. She just may be shocked if its not so hot next week and max gets his true self out!!!! Oh well I have been told its a long road but am determined to have a well trained sociable dog to love for a long time!

Hey! That sounds like you had a great time. Max sounds wonderful. I think those puppy classes are a wee of a good time. Have fun!

Good for Max! Dont worry about him not being on best behaviour next week, itll give the trainer a chance to show her mettle and teach you some strategies for coping. :) Its great to get a good class.

Congrats on a great class! It is so good to hear such positive comments about a training class... sadly too many times negative are heard and not the positive.. keep up the good work and all the best to both you and your pup!
