I've just left Tara at the vet's after getting some very bad news :( I can't really talk about it as I feel that it's all my fault :(

Daisy, I am sure that what ever it is you did that you thought was for the best and none of us can do any more. Are you sure you do not want to get it all out by telling us how you are and why you are feeling as you do. If so, you never know we may be able to help, but we will be certain to understand and offer you support.

What ever the news is You have our support & best wishes
lots of group hugs too You are not alone

Thinking of you. Best wishes Karen

Nobody is perfect and sometimes things happen/go wrong but that is how people learn is from mistakes, so I wouldn't be to hard on yourself...I'm sure she still loves you and forgives you for what ever you think you are at fault for...

Thanks to all the people for their kind messages :) I am feeling better this morning, although feel rather sick waiting for the vet to ring :( Will let you know what the verdict is when I know.
Thanks again

To everyone - I realise that my message yesterday was a bit cryptic :( For reasons that I don't want to go into in detail, Tara had a very severe infection in her leg and the vet thought last night that she may lose the leg. Fortunately, the news this morning is better and although the leg will take a long while to heal, the damage is not severe enough to amputate :)
Many thanks for to all those who sent messages and particular thanks to Jackie H for all her calming words and advice :) Hopefully, Tara may be home tomorow.
Daisy

Good news for you then, I'm sure Tara will be fine & recover much quicker at home
More healing thoughts coming her way

Glad the news is better today. One of my dogs had an infection which was through the lymph gland - the vet initially thought her leg was broken, the swelling was that severe, but she made a full recovery in about a week - aided by antibiotics and lying inverted on the settee with me (I was off work with 'flu) to allow the lymph system to drain aided by gravity.............. Hope Daisy makes a full recovery

Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as you feared. Hope she recovers quickly.

Glad it wasn't as bad as you feared. I have some idea of how you feel, last year it looked like Harvey might have to lose his leg ( he didn't) so I am very happy for you.

Thanks :) She seems quite content and has eaten a big meal. Have to go back to the vet's every other day for bandage changes for the next week or two, but who cares :)

That in a way is a blessing because it takes the responsibility off you and puts it where it belongs with the vets. You must feel so pleased and at the same time so nervous, glad she is eating that is a good thing means she is feeling so much better.

Whew! That was worrying. But you mustn't be too hard on yourself. These things are sometimes hard to spot and the dogs don't always show that they have much of a problem, as it's their instinct to hide the fact that they are under the weather so as not to attract predators. I'm so glad to hear the good news. (((((hugs for you and your doggie)))))

When I started to read your thread, I feared the worst. So pleased that it's turned out OK for you and Tara.

Hi There,
Glad Tara is home and on the mend......... Don't worry too much about her, she is an aussie :D They are bred to be tough !!!!!!!!! The same thing happened with my mums aussie after she had surgery on her foot, and although at first, it looked nasty, it healed well, and she has no ill effects.......
Hugs,

Unfortunately, being tough was the problem :) We'd no idea what was going on under the bandage and she wasn't telling :( She's a lot better today and the old bum-wiggle is working well :)
