Hello everyone,
I'd like a bit of advice regarding my 16 month old male Rottweiler. For the last few months now I've noticed that when he gets up from a laying position he clicks, only the once on actually getting up into a standing position. He doesn't click when walking. I've tried to establish where this clicking is coming from and seems to be coming from the lower leg area. I've not taken him to the vets as yet because he isn't in any pain at all, has no lameness and is his normal bouncy healthy self. I have spoken to my vet on the phone and he said to wait and see what may or may not manifest, as he feels that far to many owners and vets rush off and start doing xrays and investigations too soon. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what the outcome was. He is our 4th Rottweiler so we aren't inexperienced but have never had this particular problem with the others, who are all deceased now.
Thanks for you time :-)

Have known slipping kneecaps to produce a click, but also a click being produced for no reason that could be found. Would suggest that you ask the vet to check, any joint problem will be made worse by ignoring, waiting to see if it goes away, that can cause permanent damage.
