Just  been grooming my dog and his ears feel  bigger than normal  and alot heavier .( hes a great dane )
hes shaking his head alot  and  has been treated a few times for ear wax
.  the vets round here are closed till tommorow now  emergency calls only  -    any 1 got any ideas .

could it be aural hematoma.   or could his ear be inflamed because the puppy keeps pulling at his ears

It could be either I would have thought, possibly even an infection introduced by puppy needle teeth :(  Is he shaking more than normal?  Is it both ears/ear flaps?  Or only one?

well  8   o clock this evening had vet out for emergency call out .

he has a sever allergic reaction  to something . his  ears  had swollen twice the size as normal. and were starting to hurt,
he is feeling really sorry 4 him self.  poor fella.
hes had an injection which is supposed to help the swelling go down but  at the mo  its still the same.

Willis had this at one point - I think we put it down to midge bites. Luckily, after the first instance it hasn't returned. You could try soothing them with a cold flannel?
