can anyone please let me know if their bitches have had this, she was mated two weeks ago and although i usually see a little discharge i have never seen this much, she is also off her food and i know to expect this, many thanks, angie

I would say get her to the vet, it could be a simple infection but this early in pregnancy it needs sorting out sooner rather than later. If it is infection she will need a course of anti-biotics!
Good luck, let us know how you get on
hi sharon, thanks for your reply,i will do that but ive seen none since, maybe it was a one off, angie

if it is a green discharge she could have piometra this could be bad news and i would go to the vet
sorry i cant spell it
fiona good luck
ive seen none today and been in touch with another breeder and her bitches have had it,she says they were fine and went on to have healthy litters, ive seen none since and shes happy enough, thankyou to all, angie

The only time I've ever seen green discharge is when something has been seriously wrong, usually a dead pup etc! I've never had it early on in over 20 years of having dogs have litters. I have to say, if it was me I'd have her to the vet.
hi,the discharge wasnt snotty or bloody, just one piece approx the size of a ten pence piece, she has been dry since and seems fine in herself,as i said before ive seen it everytime my girls are in whelp, just not that big, shes had antibiotics before the mating, cheers angie

Green to me means trouble........maybe she has just passed an early dead pup at this stage of gestation a size of a 10p is probably the right size! I think I would still take her to the vet to get her checked, if she does have an infection it could easily kill the rest of the litter.........I've just found this out the hard way :-( She won't be covered now by the anti-biotics she had before mating either, she may just need another course!
