Well, we've done it! Finally decided to take the plunge and start looking into the "possibility" of another pup, and discovered that Sparky's "dad" has just sired another litter! Went to see pups today with their Mum and Dad (ready to be collected in August!) and am writing my cheque for the deposit as I type here. So nervous, but so excited! Can't believe I'm going to do this again!

Well if you are mad I am too. Sal's mom has had her last litter and I pick up the new member of the family Saturday. Same Mom as Sal but a different Dad, the pup is gorgeous and I am in love too.

What do you plan on calling the pup then and is it a dog or bitch? And what colour is the pup?

Mine is yet another bitch and she will be called Rio, she black and has a small bit brindle.

Congratulations Karen and Tracey:) WAAAAAHHHHH ! No fair! You're all getting pups except me! Just to rub it in I met a nice lady with a rescue Staffy of about a year last night, so everyone is having more dogs but us it seems, including my nieghbour who now has a collie XGSD added to her boxer and lab. Caused a blessed riot in Manic Mansions as pup came free to good home after an unplanned litter " Why do WE always have to be RESPONSIBLE and BORING ?" huffed Stinkfoot and " 3 dogs is just pure greed by the way" announced Satan Filly adding smugly " All I want is one little Sireva Weimeraner and Id walk my own dog "

Congrats KAZZ
will u be showing this girl?

and Congrats Tracy
is it a stafford your having, and if so what colour
- By kazz Date 22.07.04 20:49 UTC
Thanks Both.

May be showing may not, but more than likely hang around the open/limit shows and fairs etc definatley doing Agility and maybe flyball see how she turns out Sal prefers agility :) This one too with luck will be a PAT dog. And as I have the "gist" of  gundog training now I may get a  bit further with this a one than with Sal - you never know John the first Stafford -gundog :)

Thanks Again oh and she's gorgeous will send you piccies Lorelei :)

Congrats :)

Puppies I love them you are lucky but then they all grow up and you end up with dogs :( lol :D

Think I'll stick with 5 (2 bitches, 3 dogs) and thats enough for me...In the future as time goes on I think 1 or 2 will be nice, thank god that won't be for I don't no maybe 10 years or more if we are lucky...

Enjoy your lil bundle of 4 paws :)
- By pinklilies Date 22.07.04 22:34 UTC
are you always this positive and encouraging jackalyn? :) Take no notice Karen, I hope you have a great time with Sal and your new pup :D
- By kazz Date 23.07.04 00:24 UTC
No point in being pessimistic if everynow and again you don't prove it is there? :) Anyway jackalyn  may well be right about two bitches - I may have bitten off more than I can chew but hey "that's what makes life interesting" isn't it. A challenge.

Thanks for the best wishes though. I will let you all know how we get on. But I'm sure it will prove to be interesting, Staffords always are and all mine over the last 26 years have been more "interesting" than most.

For interesting really read >>>>>>>"sending owner to verge of breakdown but always havin the last laugh by never letting her fall over the edge."<<<<<<<<<

Dollface I will never get to 5. No I take that back if I ever consider getting anywhere near 5 shoot me :)

pinklilies; Thanks Sal Rio and I will have a great time, have you ever known me not to? :D  Apart of course for the time Sal has knocked me over, then the pond incident, of course there's the....in fact I'll get back to you on the great times ;)

Someone tell me again why I'm getting another? Karen

Hi everyone,
Busby should be joining us around the 17th August. He's another BC, long haired black and white, half a black face, with a black patch over the other eye - a real oddball to look at, but gorgeous.
He's coming home as soon as he's had his eyes tested, so we're really excited as some of you might remember we had to wait a whole 12 weeks before collecting Sparky, due to a holiday commitment.

Kazz - his breeder has ELEVEN - nine bitches and 2 dogs!! Good luck with your new little girl.
Lorelei - Satan's Filly is a girl after my own heart!

Hi
i have a SBT bitch and i am keeping a bitch from her current litter.
Keeping her son when i want to show the pup (and keep him entire) is not a good idea, (mother and son both entire??) maybe some of you manage ok with that but i personally prefer the chance on two bitches than the anguish of mother in season and son being kept out of the way.
I am aware of the problems and the pup will be crate trained just in case, my bitch has no aggressive tendancies . I actually know quite a few people who have 2 ( or more) SBT bitches together and they all live together very happily (apart from the odd spat that happens with any dogs together, but nothing serious.
Just thought i would add my opinion to this :D (in a nice way :D )

What have you called your pup, Kazz? And how did you go about introducing pup to Sal? I've been searching on the forum looking for tips on this. Good to hear little one is settling in!

Hi she is called Rio. And we pulled up outside let the pup have a wee in the back garden (ie came in the back gate)  then opened the door and let Sal out we sat on the patio furniture with Pup on my lap Sal licked nosed wagged tail and I admit is a little uncertain and keeps nosing the poor ;) pup when she tries the walk but Sal is easily distracted to come to us but will return to the pup. Something new in the garden I think she thinks. Pup has played in the garden and eaten lunch. Sal has been for a run up the park, and had a bit of lunch. Pup asleep in cage and Sal asleep on sofa watching Cricket. So far so good will keep you updated.

hello you have chosen to read my post in a manner it was'nt intended try reading it with half a smile in a non aggressive tone, its called getting straight to the point without malice! and i stick by what i said she would be far better off getting a dog if those 2 bitches don't get on then she has a very big problem on her hands but hey lets not be honest and point that out, it will be great if they do as they will be together for a long time but you know you really do need to way up the odds before you make a final decision

and for the stepford wives this post is to be read as non threatening just plain and clear thats all the post did ask after all 'am i mad' and in my view yes you could well be!
