Has anyone got any tips on how to prevent your dog standing like a rocking horse?  She is driving us nuts.  This is a new thing which started this season.  She has two CC's but unless she gets her act together is unlikely to get the all important third.

Whenever my dogs stand like a rocking horse its my fault....infact anything thats wrong is my fault....lol

I'm asumming you mean she goes back on the frount legs????  To cure this you have to bring the dog forward, simple huh?  Well to do it there are numerous ways...In training I will bait to bring them forward...I will push the head (gently) forward.  The other thing is when setting them up set them up undertucked at the front if you know what I mean, so when they lean back, it goes straight!

We do try and bait her to bring her forward but the back legs stay stationary and then she gets over stretched at the back.  She is not a stacked breed so if you move her legs manually you get glared at. She used to just stand and show like a dream but just lately she has got into this really irritating habit which she refuses to break.  She also wont let us stand in front of her we have to stand behind with our hand out stretched to the side.  Why me!!!!!

:D :D Mine is a stacked breed, and my girl does the opposite - leans forward until she's nearly choking herself - whatever I do with her back legs!

My girl does the same-looks like she's about to go diving!! I just put them further forward to start with then once the back legs are in place the front looks about right!

My BC has had lots of probs with this, getting a titbit infront of her didnt work as she still wouldn't transfer her weight forward. A friend taught me how to stack her without letting her lean back, and she looks gorgeous now. Basically you firmly lift her head upwards and forwards whilst moving her feet, at no time letting go of her head so she can't lean back. Since then she's had a few more wins so its definitely helped.
