No, I dont beat him up with it.  A little while ago I posted that I could not get Bailey to walk or run straight for showing as he has been trained to heel and watch for hand signals. I think we have cracked it. Thanks for everybodys tips bye the way. I tried putting my hand in front of him but I was leaning over him and he was still turning in to me and crab walking. I thought about using a long stick to place at the side of his face but was scared I poked his eye or mouth or if he jumped it would maybe stab him. A Riding crop is just the right length and because it is bound in soft leather, no jaggy bits, the end of the crop has a flapper so no pointy bits, and he doesnt seem to mind it at all. When he turns to me I just guide the crop down his head to the side of his face to 'face front' as it were and use the word 'ahead'. I have now tried this without the crop and it has worked, not always, but mostly. Also I only use the crop when he has his show lead on, so that he equates the show lead with 'ahead'. By jove I think wev'e got :)
