She has a little over a week left and is not eating well. I know towards the end things get crowded but she's only eating like 4-5 bites of food a day for today and yesterday. I've tried everything to encourage her to eat including blending up some of her favorite meats and mixing with her food...still no luck.

I'm a bit conserned as I worry about the babies getting enough nutrients. Any advice?

Hi, my girl is day 53 and exactly the same problem. I ve tried her with tuna this morning and she ate it all, but she's just as likely to refuse it tomorrow ;) . I am also giving her a supplement called 'Health and Fertility' which has all the vitamins she and the pups will need, so hopefully she'll be fine. I think they all go through this phase, as there isnt a lot of room with all those pups squabbling about inside!

I would try freshly boiled chicken on its own or mixed in with a small amount of dog food use the excess boiled water to drip over the mixture to entice her to eat a bit more.. , you will find this is easy for the bitch to digest and a bit tastier than plain dog food... hopefully this will give her enough for the puppies. Also adding a few supplements if you are worried. Conditioning Tablets and calcium tablets will give her that added extra as well.
