All 5 of my dogs are due to be wormed over the next 3 weeks, I have always used Panacur meaty treats, but friends have recommended try Drontal Plus tablets. What are peoples opinions on this product and has anybody had any bad side effects?
Thanks

I used Drontal on both my puppy and my cats with no ill effects at all :)

I always use Drontal Plus for my dogs with no problems.

I have always used Drontal, although I appreciate some dogs appear to not support it well. I don't bother about flavour as they just gobble anything down! :D
I've also used Drontal on all my dogs and cats, and have no problems. Cats being cats are more difficult to administer them to, but dogs being dogs, I just wrap them in a bit cooked meat, and they notice nothing!! :D
Both Panacur and Drontal are good wormers but I have heard of dogs having reactions to both. I personally would not change from a wormer that I had found satisfactory in the past. If you have had no problem with one and have no reason to feel it doesn't work why switch to another that just possibly your dog might react to?

I understood after a few years of using a particular wormer it was a good idea to swop as the worms can become less sensitive.

I asked my vet whether I should swap, or possibly use them alternately and he told me not to swap from one that worked ok on my dogs. As the one I was using was one that I didn't get from him and I was offering to buy one from him when he told me not to do that his answer was obviously not made with ulterior motives.

Anybody ever thought of doing fecal tests to determine worm burden & if worming is needed?
Christine, Spain.

Yep I do ;) have a friendly lab who do the testing at cost
Thats great M/M :D How often do you need to worm them?
