Topic Dog Boards / Health / yeast infection has anyone used nzymes
- By eleanor [gb] Date 18.07.04 13:14 UTC
Hi, just wondering if anyone has used  or heard of nzymes, I was searching the web for info on yeast infections and came accross this site, they claim that this product along with a natural diet, can cure loads of different illnesses;;;; I e.mailed them told them my dogs had just been allergy tested, and their results came back with various foods that they were allergic to, was their product suitable, their reply stated that they Do Not beleive that my dogs are allergic to these foods, they say that if the immune system is not functioning properly, then it is full of toxins, and of course any foods fed in the past could show up as being a allergy, but it is yeast that is causing , the problems cure the yeast, and feed a natural diet and all will be well (if only)., just wondered what your thought's were ? the site is www.nzymes.com

I would be very careful of being told that Yeast is the answer to all allergies/intolerances.  They have a product to sell and profit to make ;)  They could well be right, but to be honest nearly every one I know who has been tested by alternative methods have had a yeast problem  thats an awful lot of people with yeast problems

Just out of interest what foods are the ones causing the allergies?  And how do the allergy problems manifest??

Out of curiosity I had a look at the ingredients in nzymes - I don't think its at all possible to sprout soy protein  this is processed soya beans and as such is incapable of sprouting anything but ....yeasts and fungus  the other ingredient is ricebran!!  Burns dog food contains rice bran (as part of the brown rice) and is very natural - no soya, wheat, additives etc.
Please be aware that soya is as capable of causing allergies as any other protein - I have first hand experience of this.

My apologies - just read some of your other posts, you do seem to have two very affected dogs.

Hi Dill, no problems, pls don't apologise, I am glad of you opinion. does your dog suffer from alleriges ?
Hoping that Molly's Bath today with maleseb shampoo, might help her, itchiness.  maybe she is going through a detox, with the new diet, her skin condition changed just last week, after being on the raw diet for a few days. I have given her some  organic cider vinegar, and spraying some on her skin 50-50 with water, I think its helping.
any suggestion greatly welcomed, this is new to me, have not experienced this with my other dog, when his skin was really bad last year, he had loads of red  spots , and his skin turned black, he never had tiny yellow- brown crust (they have changed to brown in the last few days don't know whether its the vinegar).
Its a holiday weekend here so the vet did not have time to see Molly on Friday, she gave me her opinion over the phone, and I collected the shampoo.

Hi Tohme, thanks for the site great information on it, if molly does have yeast problems, then , I have made it worse by giving her carrots, apples, and acv, I also think the naturezymes contains some form of sugar. Can yeast show up anywhere, because she does not nibble her feet or have bad ears, (not yet anyway)  its just her back and head. The www.nzymes.com that is where I got the info about acv they say to give a tablespoon.
Their is so much conflicting information out there;;; You really have to  know your stuff : I will not be adding anything,  without checking first.  How would a detox show on a dog any idea ? because this only came about when I changed the diet, maybe it was about to happen , she has been scratching for a long time now.
I read in the kymythy schultze book that a dog can go through a detox.
Should I just continue with the diet of chicken and above ground veg no fruits, and change the probiotic, if it contains sugar just incase its yeast  problem ?
Did your dogs skin get worse before it got better ?
Touch wood Barney is doing great, no Atopica now for four days(I have reduced it slowly) just antihistamine, no itching.
Thanks again for your help greatly appreciated eleanor

Yeast can show up anywhere.

It is wise, if you believe that your dog may have a problem to remove the sugary stuff such as fruit, carrots, peas and sweetcorn.

I prefer to get my information from sites that do not have a product to sell :D

Detox varies from dog to dog, some are quite noticeable, others are not.  Can take up to 6 weeks for it to be complete and obviously skin problems are not going to resolve in a short timescale; these can take months.

Personally I would not feed the Naturezyme as I believe it is, like many supplements, a bit too broad.

Obviously the Vitamin C will help re anti histamine.

I have not had a dog with itching apart from ears thank goodness.

Take it a day at a time; prescribed drugs may give instant symptom relief but for deeper constitutional remedies time is needed.

Hi Tohme, once again , thanks for your advice, really appreciated, I will leave out sugary foods for now, and also the naturezyme, give her the same products as Barney solgar. Its good to get that bit of reassurance, to know what she is going through is normal healing process. I will remember the tip on sites;;; regards eleanor

Solgar is a brand name, they make supplements/herbals. You can get their products from health food shops. :)
