Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / what shall i feed my lab?

Hi
I have been feeding my 7 week old lab pup Eukanuba puppy food for large breeds as she was weaned on to this.  However, over the past few days she has had indigestion and loose bowel movements.  On taking her to the vet she has been put on a special diet of tinned special food for 3 days to try and settle her tum down.  My question is this though what food do you feed your lab and as there are so many different makes out there are any better and more natural than others?  I have heard of James Wellbeloved, Nature's best and the Science plan as being good makes but would be interested to know opinions.
Thank you so much
Van

Hi,

I would ring your breeder and ask their advice as they know their dogs and pedigrees better than anyone. It maybe once her tummy has settled the pup could return to Eukanuba puppy with no problem or i'm sure your breeder would recommend an alternative.
Personally, she still very little to start changing feeds unless you've really got a problem that you can't solve she is also still settling in and don't really want to be messing about with food.

Just my opinion

I had this problem with my Lab puppy recently.  i now have him on Burgess Supa dog Puppy which is wheat Gluten free and only costs around £15 for a large sack.  He is fine on that.
Foods with wheat and Gluten can often upset thier stomachs.
