he seems normal and happy in himself but has just been sick. Only things different today was that he had different flavour of food today has been on lamb and rice james wellbeloved and gave him duck one instead? Also he had his first worming tablet (from me) at 6pm. What could it be? Food? Wormer? Should I contact vet and have him wormed again or do you think he would of got that through in 5 hours? He ate a small bit of his dinner at 8pm but ate all his lunch at 2pm but sick looked like food? Oh its easier having kids than puppies you know!!!! I have never had to worm kids!!!!

Would think it the wormer. But dogs make a career of vomiting and you should not be too concerned about the one off chuck up. If the dog continues to be sick for over, say 3 hours, then you are allowed to worry and take it to the vet ;) No don't re-worm he will have absorbed it and it may well be the dead worms that caused the vomiting. If he is still sick today then take him to the vet.

so do I need to contact the vet will he need another dose of wormer? He is fine this morning by the way and I wasnt worried about the sick as he was normal in himself but I dont want him to have missed out on the worming malarkey.

I would say no he does not need another wormer now, wait till the next course are due. But as everything else I am not a vet and if you are concerened then ring the receptionist and check to see what they advise. By the way I would tell the vet that he was sick and they will probably change the type of wormer they give you.

I would suspect the wormer too. This happens with mine sometimes, and to be on the safe side I reworm a
month later (stressed so that you don't reworm straight away).
If the wormer stayed in for 5 hours I would imagine the chemical had been absorbed - when my two boys ate rat poison we had to get their stomachs emptied within an hour or they would have absorbed too much chemical and would most likely have died. (Lovely vet got them vomiting after 45 minutes and they were fine. I was a nshattered wreck!)

spoke to my vet and she has told me to pop in and get some granules as the drontal was obviousley what upset him/ I did stress to her that he kept it down for 5 hours but she said just give him the granules? I am unsure of what to do now. She asked me if their was worms in his sick but I dont think there was but now of course I am questioning myself? He is his normal bouncy self today and has eaten his breakfast and lunch. There is no worms in his poo so shall I just wait a month or take vets advice obviousley she knows more than me but I feel he kept wormer in long enough to absorb some or all of it. I dont want to overdose the poor thing on drugs.

Be guided by your vet. The granules may be a different preparation to the previous wormer, using different chemicals, and so wouldn't cause overdosing.
