I have to go to a wedding in the US and I will have to leave my dog for about a week.  I do not want to leave my girl in a kennel and I have researched 24 hour dog sitters who will live in your home.  I came accross a company called Animal Angels www.animalangles.co.uk.  I have spoken to them and they seem very professional.    Has anyone heard of them?   Or could anyone suggest a reputable dog sitter company/individual in London?

Thanks so much,
Kristine

Have a look at www.dogsit.com.

Thank you very much for your reply.  Would you say that anyone registered here would most probably be a good dog sitter?  My dog will be 4 months old when I have to leave her.  Would it be too traumatic for her to be in the sitters home or should I definitely get the sitter to stay in my home?

Thanks in advance,
Kristine

We've used Animal Aunts on a few occasions now and I would highly recommend them.

Personally I would say it's better for your pup to remain in your own home and keep to her normal routine whilst you're away.

I've been very pleased when I have used Minders Keepers. They've always been excellent.

I know Sharman Dennis - Animal Angels, she is a lovely lady and they provide an excellant, caring service. I highly recommend them

Hi Sweetiepie, I looked at the link that you posted, as I am going to my daughters wedding in 4 weeks, and although I will only be away for 5 days, and have found kennels that I liked, I have decided to go with Animal Aunts, have spoken on the phone to them and they sound excellent. All there sitters have to have 4 references which are all taken up, AND a police check. thats just for starters, I will be using them for 5 days and the beginning of August. Will report back and let you know how I get on.
