Well more of a not bathing question. We prefer not to bath our 2 HVs too often as it strips the coat of grease, they are meant to have a greasy coat so it makes sense. Anyway my question is what to do when they roll in something gross, as happened today. (Usually if they are wet they get towel dried then baby wiped and then towelled again, great for keeping away that wet dog smell) Is there something that we can use to deodorise them andt that is also safe and does not affect the coat too much. Hope you have some good suggestions, we could only think of tomato sauce(ketchup)but we don't really use it therefore don't buy it.

If hosing down and a long walk doesn't clear it you may have to resort to tomato juice or sauce. There are some poos, fox in particular, that will not go with hosing.
I have just bought some Plush Puppy Odour Muncher.
It only arrived at the weekend and my two smell lovely now. Expensive for a little spray bottle, but you only need a couple of squirts.
They do mail order, website is http://www.plushpuppy.co.uk/ Their shampoo is lovely too.

Recon HVs may be a bit embarrassed at smelling lovely and go straight out and find something lovely and dead to roll in, the more rancid the better. :)
