Does anyone have any suggestions for good places to walk on the Wirral? If you can add a dog friendly pub or cafe, please, so much the better!

There are the beaches at Thurstaston, West Kirby, Hoylake- also try walking out to Hilbre Island ( but keep an eye on that infamous tide) etc and there are various Wirral Way routes to go. Where about are you on the Wirral Tracey?
I also enjoy Storeton woods- loads of trees,grass and hills for the dogs to explore without worrying about them being able to get out onto the road and the majority of dogs and walkers that you encounter are really friendly too.

Thanks for that. It's not me who lives on the Wirral, it's my sister, who lives in Irby. I'm over the water the other way! She is dogless and queen of a beautifully tidy pet-free house, so has no ideas about dog friendly walking over there when I go to see her. I'm trying to convert her ;) ! Where is Storeton?

Storeton Woods is just up from Prenton and on the way to Clatterbridge. There are a number of different paths to take when in there so you arent constantly bumping into others.
Royden Park is close to Irby I think - thats a nice walk too :)

Royden Park is close to Irby, you can get to it by walking thru' the woods at the end of Sandy Lane. You can also walk up on Thurstaston Hill by walking down School Lane & past Thor's Stone. Then, if you're really energetic, you can get to the Wirral Way by walking thru' Thurstaston towards the river. There's also a beach at Caldy. The Wirral Way's the old railway line that ran from W. Kirby to Hooton.

If you're up to it the Wirral Way at Thurstaston is a great walk :)
