hi
i have spoke to the bark busters group and told them im not happy with the service.i doubt i will get any kind of refund but i can at least tell them how crap they are if nothing else.
i have done alot of research about training etc and i am going to start from scratch with him. i don't think he is aggressive or stubborn just mis understanding between us.i have read that grumble/growl is him saying he's not happy and requesting to be left alone.but like you have said he shouldn't be told off for this behaviour because it can lead to more problems.
i don't want him to look at me as a dictator and must comply with commands he should do it to please so i will be working on this with him also.
i have never come across this before and your comments helped me to see where i was going wrong.
another thing i was doing wrong is allowing him to eat what/when he wants so then he didn't work for the tip bit when out because he doesn't have to.so this is changing.also he will see some of the commands as good and bad so i need to help him as to which is which.i have got a list of commands that i am going to do with him to strengthen our bond but if he does show any behaviour problems i will see david appleby with him.
i feel quilty to some degree for being such a fool for involving them in the first place but at least i can resolve issues before things get serious.
so we are going back to basics but reward and praise only.and a voice command of no nothing else.thank you for your comments good and bad has it has put things in a new light which i wasn't seeing.

Glad you are moving on, hope it goes well for you.
Congratatulations! Its sounds like you are definately on the right track. Don't feel guilty about anything, owning dogs is a learning curve, you cant get it right all of the time, i've definately learnt the hard way! Do keep us posted on how things are going.
Don't feel guilty, we have all done things with our dogs that in hindsight we may not have done ;)
I think it is a good idea to have DA as backup.
Best wishes
Lindsay
