Hello, I have had a scottish terrier a month now and she was a stray at my brother n laws house. well, now she is about to burst with puppies she was preggy when i found her, I have seen dogs have pups but never was around them right before, so what are the signs i need to look for I have been looking online and she is starting to want to sleep by herself now , she is tearing up paper all over the house, she eats some but not much, she cant get comfortalbe hardly anywere , and she is making her a bed with her blankets, our clothes, anything she can find to curl up with , she scratches her bed alot now and never did that before but i have only had her a month tho, her name is Molly and she lives with me , hubby, my 2 year old girl chihuahua Rosie and our 5 year old tomcat Pepper, she goes everywere with us in the car, well her and rosie,  her belly has gone from high and not wobbly and now it is low and it swings side to side when she walks, she doesnt act as tho she is in pain, just not comfortable, her and rosie have a vet appt. this tuesday july 13,04. I am just worried she cant have the pups and I cant stand the thoughts of this, Im not a breeder she is just is a pet i found that didnt have a home all my pets are rescued animals from something or another. so please give me information on what to look for. and if anyone has any pics of a scottie dog before birth please let me see them

Has the vet seen her before your appointment on tuesday or will this be her first appointment?

Gulp.  If it were me and in your situation I would be either through the vets or some rescue, club try to find an experienced person who is prepared to help you.  I am assuming you can't know what type of breed the father/sire is. Scotties commonly have c-sections with their own size of dogs never mind if the sire of the puppies was a larger breed along with any normal problems they encounter.

Really she should have been at the vets long before now.
