This morning I came downstairs to find our six month old boxer puppy had managed to get a doxen eggs and a marrow off the kitchen counter and had eaten ALL the eggs! This is new behaviour, what should I do?

Change the location of your eggs and vegetables - to a cupboard maybe.

I think this proves that you shouldn't leave food around where a dog can reach ;)

Just keep an eye on your pup as it may become a bit constipated from eating them all in one go

I've given my dogs raw eggs for years without any problems, though usually without the shells, and only one at a time :)

Be thankful that he didnt get a load of meat!!!!!!!!
I went out shopping one day, put all food(still bagged) in kitchen and then went and dropped mum off. Out of all the food she could have got, she ate 2 beef steaks, 1 pack bacon, 1 pack mince and the sunday joint. Needless to say she didnt get any dinner that night as had pigged out on all my meat!!!!!!!!
Certainly taught me that I shouldnt leave anything in easy reach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I was staying with a friend, a few years ago, and was helpikng out with the cooking as a load of people were expected back for "high tea" after a show (horse not dog).  I did plate pies (both meat and fruit) pasties, salads, cheese board, chunks of nice bread & butter, Victoria Sandwich Cake, Chocolate cake, and scones with jam & crea..  Went to answer phone, and out of the corner of my eye caught a movement.  When I turned round the pointer had jumped over the back door (stable type) and was clearing the kitchen work of top everything ined up on it, gulping down what she could and flinging onto the floor the rest, to the delight of the 2 dachsuhunds and my American Cockers sitting waiting!  The only thing left (and I was turned round for only about 2 minutes) was the bowl of lettuce, and the tomato and onion salad!  None of the dogs were any the worse for the experience, but the sight of a pointer wiht its nose buried right into the middle of a big Victoria Sanwich was really something!  That particular dog had a good egg deal going with one of the Dachsis, too.  The Dachsi used to burrow under the wire fence into the bantam run, and snatch an egg, which she would carefull place at the feet of the pointer would take the egg and trot over to the concrete on the stable yard, lift her head as high as she could, then drop the egg to break it, the pair woudl then happily lap up the mess (shell and all) before going back to repeat theperformance.
bye
Gwen

Brilliant teamwork! And some people say dogs are stupid! They have no idea!
