the book of the bitch tells me 10 days till puppies eyes are open
i know this is an average time span
i have 14 day pups with no sign yet of opening thier eyes
they are a toy breed
is this normal, or shall i talk to the vet?

Can you see a crease where the eyes will open - this tends to gradually deepen and then the eyes open a tiny crack at a time, it is not closed one day and open the next.  If you are concerned or if they don't open soon then I would have a word with the vet.

Hi guest, one of my breed are Toys (pugs), and they tend to open thier eyes around day 14/15.  I once whelped a litter of cockers for a friend, and they did not ope their eyes until day 17 - I was in a panic, the pups were toddling around, eyes tight shut!
