Hello there, i have a 14month Bullmastiff bitch who is fantastic. I have recently rescued a cross breed bitch puppy who had a bad start in life. The puppy is a large fluffy cross breed and very obedient fo 9weeks of age. They sleep curled up together, they clean each other , my big girl is so gentle with the pup and they follow each other round everywhere...BUT...when they play all you can hear is growling and the pup is always hanging off the big ones lips or ears snapping at her. Then the big one holds her down by the back of the neck her head almost fitting in her mouth.
I have never had two dogs before are they just playing or is it some sort of fight that may get of control? They seem to do it all the while, only stopping to eat sleep or have fuss off us humans.
I would hate them to fight because they miss each other when they are apart even if its for 5 minutes.
Your advice would be much appreciated,
Thanks Angie.

Thanks for the replies, it just worried me a bit...cuz of all the growling and snapping and thought one day my big one is gonna get fed up and hurt her...but she is very gentle with her when they play tug.

i am having the same thing with my 15 months leo and 5 month sammy.
it looks really rough some times but neither of them have any kind of injurys.upto now i am just watching them as the sammy does get carried away but the leo gets up and walks away,as if to say if your gonna be rough im not playing.but he does torment him to by holding a toy out of his reach but then they lick each other etc.they are beginning to become partners in crime.
