Im looking into the siberian husky and have a few questions, naturally.
I know they arent the best dogs offlead, so i would keep him on flexi lead, how long a day would he need walking?
I wouldnt really want to do any sledging etc with him.
thanks

Sibes will take as much exercise as you can give them, but at least a couple of hours a day if possible.Well done for planning on keeping it on lead, that's VERY important. Why don't you join if you have more questions to ask. Also look at the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain site and the Scottish Siberian Husky Club site for lots more info.
Flexi leads are really good however go careful once pup grows up. Our dogs are worked regularly and as such can develop speed extremely fast. You can get jerked forward really hard if you let them do this. I always walk my huskies on a walking belt and then for added protection fasten a small lead around the flexi leads handle and attach that to the belt, so in the case it gets knocked out of your hand, that dog can`t go anywhere!
Join the club(s) and make use of their bulletin boards as people will have all sorts of advice and tips regarding whether a husky is right for u etc.
kind regards

hi can you help i am looking for reputable breeders for huskys in and around the west midlands i have searched loads of sites on net but they are all far a field
You will find that given the dispersement of reputable breeders you will most likely need to travel a couple of hours to find a good breeder so I wouldn`t rule this people out. If you join the SHCGB club or even look on the links section of their website you will come into contact with some good people. Unfortunately site seems to be having technical difficulties atm so you may need to wait until its sorted.
In the meantime there are lots of champ shows around the country at the moment which will be worth a looksee as you will meet loads of husky folk at these and get to know all the different types and breeders.
Hope this helps
