My puppy had sickness and diahorrea on Wednesday evening, I took him to the vet yesterday (Thursday).  Anyway they wasn't too sure what was wrong - probably something he had eaten.  Anyway he was very poorly all day yesterday - he didn't perk up at all.  He just slept on his bed.  Eventually about 8pm last night (after starving him for about 30 hours) I gave him a small amount of chicken and rice.  He seemed to perk up, but he seemed to be limping on his left back leg.  About 5am this morning I could hear him walking about, so I got up and he was what seemed to be normal. I gave him a little bit more chicken and rice.  He hadn't been sick or been to the toilet.  I didn't notice him limping this morning.  I wonder if the limping was to do with him laying all day, obviously if it still persists today I will get it checked out.  By the way he is a dobermann, nearly 20 weeks.

Don't think you need to worry too much if he now seems ok, puppies do this every now and again to keep us on our toes. It could be a pain in his tummy was causing him to lift his leg, I do it, don't you, if you have a pain low down in the tummy.

Keep an eye for a few days but he may well be right back to normal, if not the a trip to the vets. Bet he is very hungry

He is very hungry - but I shall give him little and often today.  This morning he was barking at me as I was doing his chicken and rice.

With his leg I thought may be it was where he had been laying all day - and it had become a bit stiff.  As I suppose I would if I had been laying in bed all day unwell.  But I will watch how he goes.  I must say it did seem a bit weird considering his leg was fine the night before.

He definitely keeps me on my toes.  Its worse than having a child!!!

On no it's not!  pups grow up a lot quicker and they do what you tell them.

Yes would feed his normal amount but split into about 6 meals today then 5 tomorrow and so on till you are back to what ever is normal for him. Let him drink as much water as he likes, unless he starts to vomit again and then you will have to give that a little every hour of so.
