Can you tell me how soon after a puppy has had its second vaccination (12-13 weeks old), is it safe for it to go outside? The vet said a week but does everyone keep to that or have some of you taken yours out before? (not on roads/pavements, just grass/fields?)

I usually crack 5 days after the second jab.

thats interesting, max is having his second jab next monday and we have been invited out on the sunday following which will be 6 days after jab and I was wondering if we could get away with taking him for a little walk with our friends. I know it wont be far for a while but I am still excited about taking him out as I know he is going to love it as he does need a lot of stimulation.

I really can't see how taking him out just one day early would hurt....its not as though the vaccination suddenly starts working on day 7. I took my littlest out on day 6  to meet the people at my older girls training class. He loved it!

Your vet will advise when it is safe when you take the pup for its final injection :)

My vet said ten days.  Just shows how they all differ!

Our vets say straight away.... again different, I think it also depends on the Vacine and maybe how well the vet knows you ;)

And my vet says 2 weeks   yeah right - like I could wait that long  I'll probably crack after about 4 or 5 days ;)
