Hi
Following on from the Tara, India what name to choose, a few people mentioned shortening the names.
All our dogs have there names and there OTHER names plus there KC registered name.

Louis gets called  Hey Bop
Domino gets called Ho Manoff
Poppy gets called  Popadopalus
Becky gets called  Becks Beer
Brodie gets called  Bro
Hebe gets called  Jeebs
and Ziggy gets called  Widget (someone said it's a useful thing to have around)

Thing is they all answer to both names. 
And honest we are not Greek beer drinkers with a butler into rap.  LOL

We have lots nicknames for wheeler!!!! Here's the ones we mostly use :D
Wheeler Dealer (hid full name from the shelter because he ''looked like the type!'' :D)

Parsley was known as  Nippy ??
and Holly went by the name of the old git - mainly because she snored and farted a lot

I sadly lost Parsley 5 years ago, aged 11 and we lost Holly last year aged 15.

We now go by the name of the sad old gits as we are dogless

Dilita's name when she was alive was sexy bum, anybody who saw her at shows would tell you that the little stump never stopped wagging so we always called her sexy bum :d  Only problems is that I used to call her this name at the shows or when I was out walking her so got some weird looks now and then.

He is a Dobie so has a docked tail and when he was a pup his little stumpy tail would wag so hard, he got stumpy and it has stuck :D :D
He used to also get Little Man-- Not so little now at six and a half stone.

We often call Millie "Millie Noo Noo" or "Noo Noo" (long story) but whats worse is when we shorten her name subconciously.  You wouldn't think its possible, but....oh yes....it is!

How awful is that?  It sounds so common.  Yet both of us have done it on several occasions without meaning to!

Glazby has quite an aray of nicknames:

We also regularly sing the song "Mandy" to him but change it to "Glazby"!!!

Our staffies get referred to as the ginger pigs!  Because they are both red and sound like little pigs with all the grunting and snorting they do! :)

my cocker is called Dicksy (after Julian Dicks ex footballer!) we call him Dicky Dog! and our Lhasa is call Nell and the poor thing is often called 'smell!'

Love the variations.
Ours are called Zeety poops or Zeet, Cooty coo or Coot and Little lil' or Lilwee.
There proper names are Zeta, Cody and Lily.
We used to have a Remy that was called Veggie Mite and Reggie. A GSD called Rowan
Rosy Pose, and a Bobby called Robert Dog, and a Trudy called Loopy Loo.
Sime time a go we had two cats called Ringo and Mandy but when we called them in at night it was tingalingamandy. They always came. :)

We are all bonkers :D

Jazz often gets called Jazzywoo, Jazzy, Jazzywazzywoo, Jazzamataz, Mr Jazz, Old man, Lunaroo and smelly git but to name a few.  My dog when i was at home was called Whisky and he used to get called Wally, Wal, Whisk.

and you really don't want to know what i call toyah (it's a horrible name but it's in an affectionate way :D )
