Our 14 month old golden retriever was just spayed last friday but she has been acting oddly ever since. She has gone off her food completely, admittedly she never was driven by food but now her appetite has all but disappeared. Also she seems keeps waking up in the night and begins whining and howling until we go down and sleep with her, she has never done this before although when she was a puppy she did whine first thing at night but this settled down after a couple of weeks. She also wants to keep hiding under chairs, any ideas what has happened would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Would think she is in pain, take her back to the vet to make sure everything is as it should be and to get something to help with the discomfort, there is no reason why she should be suffering.

It sounds as though she is in pain for some reason. Maybe she has an infection following the surgery. Get your vet to check her over - this is not normal behaviour so many days post-op.
