Hi can anyone tell me where I can get a storage bin of some sort, big enough to hold at least a 15kg of dried food? I have tried some web sites and the only thing I can find is a storage container in the shape of a bone!!!

Hi Jules
We use a normal household black plastic dustbin for our feed! It has little clasp things that hold the bin lid on too, and we got it from Asda for about £7.50 :D Plus, being plastic, its extremely easy to wash out. It holds a 15kg bag.
Hope this helps :)

Edited to say: We bought it specifically for the dog food; we didn't just use one we'd been using as a dustbin, just in case anyone thinks we are mucky pups :D

Jules, if you don't see any on display, ask someone if they have them. We thought there were none in our store at all, until OH spotted one lonely specimen lurking on top of a shelf! If not Asda, garden centres have them, but they tend to be a bit pricier ;)

If not try one of the cheap shops we got on of the swing lids(I think thats what they are called)bins for about the same price.

Pedigree dop bins of that size at their standas at championship shows.

I use to put my dog food in storage containers but I find it stays much more fresh in the bag it comes in. I just fold it up and clamp it with big spring clamps, and I also have more room where I keep it. Of course I keep it in a dark cool place :)
we just use a black dustbin bought solely for the dog food from B&Q basic range. Really cheap. Holds one 15kg back and 7.5g at the same time as this is what I buy per month

Can't leave in the bags as worry about rats & mice, we use a swing lid bin and I am always worried that a furry thing will fall in and be there fat and bloated when I go for the dog food. It has never happened but I send hubby for the hounds rations never the less.

Got mine from Ikea and they hold a 15 kg bag of dried food perfectly. Only thing is they aren't airtight but that doesn't matter to me for how long the food lasts :D They also stack on top of each other and a flap lifts up so you can get to the contents easily. They are so easy :)

Eukanuba do a great, bright pink bind with an airtight lid, dont think you can buy it, but it is often given free by the outlets who supply the Brand.
