i was thinking about setting 1 up but thought you could not do it with out having a creadit card. i have email the buyer but had nothing back of them yet.
so thought i would ask here
thanks all
I THINK on Paypal somewhere it says that you can pay anyone that has an email account & all you need to do is enter their email addy.

thanks
so what do i do?
just get in touch with them and get a cheque is it?
or can they pay it in to my acount (which mean i will have to set up an acount with them).
Not a 100% certain, but I don't think they will send you a cheque. You will probably have to set up an account, giving bank details etc. can only suggest you contact Paypal or Ebay or both & ask, sorry can't help anymore.

We got done by some s**t in the states for nearly £300 - We paid through PAYPAL and we got every penny back, they were brill - they launched an investigation and struck the 'offender' off the site.

well paypal does have it advantages i guess i will have to join now
thanks both
i didnt think people could pay you unless you have an account but i know they have changed a lot of things lately. To get the money i would imagine you would have to create an account using that email address. Or you could tell the seller that you dont accept paypal and get them to send a cheque if it wasn't mentioned in the auction they shouldnt have tried to use it.

thanks Jo
at the bottom of the auction i say no paypal, so he should not of done it, so i am emailing him to say send a cheque. i am now thinking about setting an acount up as i only thought you could do it if you had a credit card.
thanks all for your help
You can use credit or debit card - visa, mastercard, switch , delta etc and then they pay it into your account bu they do seem to have changed things to make it easier for more people to use so you may not need a card at all now
Has anyone had trouble getting money out of Paypal. I thought about setting up an account but did not like the "small print" where they say they can decline to let you have your money and there is nothing you can do about it. I then did a search on PayPal and came across a site dedicated to them that was not at all complimentary so did not set up an Ebay or Paypal account :-(

We have used paypal for buying and selling on ebay for 4 years with no trouble.

You can send a payment to someone even if they don't have a paypal account, Paypal then send an email inviting the person to join. If the payment is unclaimed they will have it refunded into their paypal account.
I have used it for buying and selling on Ebay and is so much quicker than sending cheques or cash, especially for selling internationally. As for withdrawing cash into a bank account, it takes up to 7 working days and the last time I checked the fee is 50p. Never had problems withdrawing into my account.
You should consider which type of paypal account you require, as a premier member you will be charged a fee for receiving payments. Alot will charge a percentage on the total to cover this fee, which is actually against Ebay's rules but you can accept Credit Card payments through paypal. As a personal member you are not charged for accepting payments, but buyers will not be able to pay using their credit card. So it really depends on how much you use the service really. I have not had any problems with them at all, been a member for nearly 4 years.
The service is improving all the time, when I first joined you could only send and receive Dollars now it works with various currencies and even does the conversion for you.

We use ebay to sell donated stuff for rescue I always prefer paypal its a bit expensive as they take a percentage but its reliable and if you buy through paypal you are pretty well protected especally on expensive items I bought a PS2 for my grandaughter the buyer demanded payment withing three days then took three weeks to send the thing and then only when I contacted paypal.
Always check sellers star rating that will tell you what kind of seller they are.
You can also register for nochex but there is a limit to how much you can have in there.
We have been using paypal for years with both a business and personal account for all sorts and had no problems
Its probably O.K but make sure the e-mail is from Pay-Pal and not from someone just trying to get your credit card/banking details.
I get so many scam e-mails that look so official and theirs always new ones coming out, so just be doubly sure that it is from them.
