I've just received a quote from the vets for £154 to spey a Golden Retriever does this seem about right to you.

I Have had two quotes from vets £155 plus VAT so that is about right. but we also have a veterinary group in our area that specialise only in vaccinations, neutering and micro chipping..they have quoted me £60. I had her jabs done there when she was a pup £24 for both of the jabs..so she will be returning there to be spayed. Your quote is about right for most vets though.

That sounds quite cheap to me, my border collie (who weighs 14kg) cost £155 to spay last year. I was expecting more in the region of £175-200 for ellie (my retriever) so maybe i'm paying too much! I suppose it also depends on where you live, the south of england tends to be quite expensive.
That is quite reasonable. A lot less than many vets charge.

how much does it cost to get a male lab done?

Ask your vet.

Our vet is charging £85 for Hudson to be castrated (Alaskan Malamute) but best check with your vet as it can vary a lot depending on area :)
I must have a really cheap vet!!! I had my 9mth lab bitch done on monday for £85!!! There's been no problems-she's back to her loonatic self! Took her yesterday for a check up and all is going well-needed a shot of anti-biotics because one of her stitches has come out (but has already healed in that particular spot), but thats about it. Where i go charge on a size basis, and she's only a little lab which probably helped!
