Don't you hate the Lancaster one way system??? Modelled on the one in Beverley. So I got it twice!!!
By Isabel
Date 10.04.02 10:23 UTC

I'm used to it now 9thM but we get a fair few tourists and they struggle. I've got a sister living in East Gate, Beverley but its years since I've been there, we meet up elsewhere, lovely town though.

Is there still a harpsichord maker down by St George's Quay?
By Isabel
Date 12.04.02 16:14 UTC

I dont know Kate. I've tried to find out but all my chums seem to be a miserably unmusical bunch. Are you a harpsichordist then.

A Sainsbury's lorry overturned and it apparently took the fire engine 1 hour to get about 500 yards!
Helen (work in Lancaster but live in North Yorkshire, near Ingleton so miss the traffic :-)))

HODDESDON, HERTFORDSHIRE (too close to the Essex border with Harlow):d

Miles away from any decent roads, so champ. shows are a nightmare, but a lovely place to live. A little Norfolk Market town in the middle of the Norfolk Broads and only 2 miles from the beach so the BT's have some wonderful walks.

Karl, no problem come and introduce yourself to me and the BT's, we will be happy to see you, mind just avoid the times when I'm due in the ring cos that nice person that Sara is talking about is not so nice when the adrenalin is starting to flow. LOL Its the old competitive streak coming out.
Lunchtime is probably the best cos I may have had a drink or two by then!!!!

So Northampton's now officially "south east" is it? When we moved here from London people acted as though we were going to Scotland! I suppose it's the "North" in the name, come to think of it.....
Cathy.

I think of it as North, but I was born in Lambeth, and now live in Bristol, where me Mum was born! I was told North of Watford Gap is NORTH :D
By KirstyS
Date 12.04.02 14:01 UTC
If Northampton is North then out of interest what is scotland? :D
Kirsty (sorry I feel as though I'm almost at the other end of the earth from where I used to live in Scotland now that I'm in Northants).
:)

Date 12.04.02 17:52 UTC
Kirsty -
One of the joys of living in Northamptonshire is that no-one seems to be sure where it is! For instance, train wise Northampton is Network South-East whereas Wellingborough, 10 miles away, is Midland main-line - although it's a far better line for commuting to London.
Then the BBC puts us in "Look East", and ITV in "Anglia".....
Perhaps we could compromise with "a central position for travelling anywhere in the country"

Cathy:)

It is in comparison to Scotland. Sorry maybe I'm not quite right in my geography.
South East enough for me. :)

Hi Claire, we're also in flipping Scotland, south of Edinburgh and in the middle of nowhere but not far from somewhere :-) Or to be more precise, a couple of miles outside St Boswells villiage on the Jedburgh side. What about meeting up sometime? Us incomers should stick together!
