Thanks Jackie H, I might try the veterinary societies. as I have found
breeders are just not honest about this sort of thing, and they should
be upfront and trying to stop things like Hydrocephalus creeping into
the breed.

As you are a member you can answer on the same thread, open the thread and click on the reply button at the top right. This is the water on the brain type illness I belive, will have a look and see if I can find anything in relation the the Gt Dane

Edit: found it quickly and it is not listed in the papers I have as an inherited problem in the Gt Dane, that does not mean to say it does not happen just that it is not thought to be in the breed. Have you looked on the net to see if there is any mention in relation to the breed.
