First of all apologies for posting this answer on a new topic but I have tried to register many times but to no avail!
My own opinion on the above mentioned problem would be to get the female spayed. That way you will not have to deal with her seasons every 6 months or so and it has been known for neutered male dogs to be still be attracted to the aroma of a bitch in heat (not that he would be able to do much damage, but still sometimes upsetting for the male). Having the female spayed will also stop her from falling pregnant by any other male dogs should she escape whilst in season. Obviously your vet will explain the op to you and the best time for it to be carried out.
