Hi there
My pups are now just over 3 weeks old and have been on puppy porridge for 5 days.  Some are taking to it quite well but others are a little less interested, although all have eaten some.  Can anyone give me any tips as to what I could put in the porridge to entice those that are not very interested.  Mum has just about had enough of feeding them (and I'm not surprised with their needle teeth) so it is important they get a good fill.

Also when would be the best time to put them on real puppy food that I will soak in water to make into a mash?  They are a large breed litter.
Thanks for your advice
Kelly

Hi
When my dogs were puppies I gave them ready brek, which I made using goats milk and adding cold milk on their ready brek to cool it off for them, they loved it.
And now they are grown they still love this for a treat in the winter .
They also have goats milk to drink every day.

I use Nutrolac a puppy milk made from goats milk.  I find it never makes the pups loose.

If they have teeth surely they are capable of eating real food?

Hi guest, why dont you register so we can help more?  It would be useful to know what sort of puppy porridge you are using.  I wean mine onto puppy porridge made from pre-soaked Eukanuba, blended and mixed with warm goats milk.  A lot of people use a traditional method of scrapped beef, rolled into little balls, as a weaning food.  Or you can warm and mash tinned puppy Chum to encourage eating.

I found this too when I tried it, and noticed that it was only jilk and cereal, and I had already tried them on puppy milk and soaked puppy food (which does contain meat) and made that into a porridge.

so I would just soak a little of their food and mix it with puppy milk into the thickenss you wnat leaving it gradullay thicker until pups have their food semi dry, and the puppy milk as a drink a ocuple of times a day.

Mine are 7 weeks today and theya re getting half a pint of puppy milk between the four twice a day, and puppy ffod moistened with some water 4 times a day.

Are you feeding pedigree puppy porridge, if not what do you make up your puppy food with.

I soak some puppy food an hour or so before feeding, then mash it with a fork and add the mixed up puppy milk so that it forms a porridge.
