some of you may have notcied i havent been on for a while this is due to the fact that i have been drafted in as an extra body on one of the sites for work, the site that i have been 'guarding' is a great site for training sniffer dogs lots of nooks and crannys and different levels for the dogs to work on, so i have been tkaing Jack my spaniel along with me, his training for detection work was posponed after fireworks and then because i have been so busy trying to get my goat pen completed, so a few reminder lessons and great he hasnt forgotten anything, so i decide to go one step further and add a substance for him to find, as he can be a nit manic in his searching narcotics were a better option than explosives, so i start by using heroin first in his toy then some wrapped up and last night at work a small amount in a bag and the result he finds it and marks it every time, a few more sessions with heroin and we will have ago with another drug, im so proud of him and it looks like he could well earn himself a place on the firm.

Good for you and Jack :) taking him visiting will never be quite the same again will it? :D Working cockers amaze me, theyre so quick on the uptake. My friend is constantly looking for ways to keep her little lad out of mischief and taught him to search. Now he wont come in the house till shes hidden something for him to find.

thank you all, and im positively beaming now, last night we moved onto another drug as he is now able to find heroin when all the odds are against him finding it, he managed to find a piece of cloth that was an inch square in size with just a dusting of heroin amongst tyres and grease and also managed to find it when hidden in a bin, the only problem is we have now gone back to square one with the new substance and it confused him to begin with but Jack being Jack soon got the hang of it, but at least when training complete if he and Bruce decide to chase cats into fnces he can pay himself :D
