For the second day in a row our puppies are mucky!  Obviously they are beginning to poo without being licked by mum and when they are all wrapped together in cosy piles, one decides to "go" and messes over the rest of them!

Yesterday I bathed them because they were getting it everywhere and mum wasn't too fussed about clearing it up.  The same thing has happened today too.

I guess it isn't a good idea to bathe little puppies three times a day so what does everyone else do?  It's a bit smelly and yellow (typical milk fed baby styleeee) and mum doesn't like the fly that is attracted to it!

Don`t know how old yours are, mine are 5+bit wks. I have a bowl of water with those blue/yellow J cloths only for pups, ring out well & wipe pup all over few times a day :) Mined mine don`t do many poops, but enough puddles to have bath in  I`ve no need to bathe them as urine is still clear & not really smelly....yet!

Hi Jacky, if Mum is not doing a thorough job I use baby wipes - better than soaking tiny babes several timmes per day, and very effective.
bye

You can actually get doggie wipes, but baby wipes will be cheaper.

Baby bath liquid in a bowl of water and then sponge them doen or use a cloth works well.  As it doesn't need rinsing off a baby's skin I think it is safe to use wityhout rinsing.

I often use it in wet weather when people come to xee pups to clean feet.  Puppies feet get very smelly when running around outsdie, and of course when people pick up those lovely pups they get a mouthful of smelly feet :D

Thank you everyone.  I wouldn't have thought of baby wipes but will certainly give it a go.  I've just been to fetch them in from the kennel and they have started the day all sparkly, clean and sweet smelling - let's just hope they stay that way all day!
