Amy has won 3 firsts both in minor and novice classes at open shows. She will be a year old on 1st august. I know i can enter her in junior bitch class but which other class is she able to enter in. She has not won at championship show.

OK well you can enter almost anything you fancy, except the puppy classes, but you may like to try Beginners, Maiden, Novice Tyro Debutant Undergraduate Graduate and Sp Yearling. Not all shows will have these classes on offer and some may have others that you could enter. The important thing is to read the requirements for each class before you enter and some of the special classes differ from show to show. Good luck and happy showing

Hi Jean, If she has won a 1st in Novice, she cannot enter Maiden. The two Minor Puppy 1st's don't count when entering adult classes, so yes she can go in Novice, till she wins two more 1st's at Open or Champ Shows, in adult classes, i.e. Novice upwards.

As I said you have to read the requirements for the class in each schedule, if the class is a special it may have different requirements from the norm. Yes, nursey, did not look in detail you have caught me out :) no Maiden, unless it is a special Maiden or a Special Beginners. And then there is Special Newcomers, yes def. need to read the schedule.

ok im confusing myself here now novice says for dogs which have not won a challenge certificate or three or more first prizes at open and championship shows ( minor puppy, special minor puppy, puppy and special puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not)  i know i can enter her for junior but do her previous firsts which were won in minor puppy and puppy classes stop me from entering novice now

None of the puppy class wins count, they are excepted, do not count toward the count of wins. You can win 2 more 1st in classes that are not one of the puppy ones. OK ;)

So this means i can enter junior and novice when doing my schedule for skc is this right
