Hi
I know chocolate is poisonous for dogs, just wondering is there anything else? Might be useful to know

Grapes aren't good for them either.  Think they can cause renal (sp?) failure.

Everything in excess is potentially toxic to all living things, even water.

If you are talking about food, grapes, raisins, chocolate and onions are really the only things that you need to totally avoid.

also coca mulch used in the garden

Think it is a matter of quantities, my dogs will eat all the listed things apart from the chocolate, most the time without my permission, but touch wood they have come to no harm. Not the ones I have now or those I have owned in the past. Do sometimes worry about the things they find in the hedge but there is a limit to how closely you can watch them.

I've always heard this about grapes but never knew why! Can anyone please tell me why grapes are bad for dogs? I understand the chocolate is 'coz of the cocoa but what about grapes/raisins?

Coffee, chocolate, tea or any other caffeine - contain caffeine , or theophylline, which can be toxic and effect the heart and nervous system.

Grapes and Raisins - Contain an unknown toxin , which can damage the kidneys

Large amounts of liver - Can cause Vitamin A toxicity, which effects muscles and bones

Mushrooms - Can contain toxins, which may effect multiple systems in the body , cause shock and result in death

Check this link out hopefully it works, if not still check it out :)
