Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / 4am wake up calls

I have two labradors , one of which is just over a year old. We have had no problems at all and they sleep indoors albeit in seperate rooms. This has worked very well for the last year but last week he started getting up between 4am and 5am to go to the toilet. I always let them out before bed to do their business and it has worked fine to date. I feed them their main meal at about 5.30pm. I am scared that he is getting into a routine and thinks that this is as good as any time to go out. I don't know where to go with this. I have tried leaving him outside to try and teach him that at this hour of the morning its not fun. I adore my dogs though and he looks so pissed off in the morning ( about 6 am ) when I get up for work and let him in. I need to try and get him back into sleeping through the night  - any help greatly appreciated -

Lacking Sleep

maybe because it is light outside he thinks its time to get up.  Can you maybe make the room darker ?
