Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Socialisation at the fair

Hi, I just thought I would let you know about our trip to the fair last night.
Our local park has been taken over by the travelling fair so I thought I would see how Shadow reacted to this new experience.

When we first arrived he was'nt very keen on entering the fair and looked a bit spooked with all the loud disco music, crowds and weird looking rides whizzing around, so I carried on calmly and in the end he just thought (if she's not worried why should I be), so after a few minutes he settled and was being petted by the public and met a fair dog that was loose. He behaved really well and I was sooooooooo proud of him!

He settled so much that he tried to jump up and steal one of the bags of candy floss hanging up from the catering vans! little b****r!
So all in all a very useful experience for him at quite a young age.

sounds like you had a great time:)
We often go to country fairs in the summer with the dogs this is very good for socialising
The last one we went to Had Fly-Ball competition on which was great to watch, but or young bitch couldn't understand why she wasn,t allowed to chase the tennis balls
this is her favourite toy she even sleeps at times with one in her mouth:d
