Can anyone help me!!!

I have a puppy bitch which I would like to enter under the class for a CC, and I have a 2yr bitch of the same breed which I do not want to enter for a CC. If the entries in the schedule state only CC's does this mean that they do not do classes without CC's - I am referring to Cockers.

This is probably answering my own questions, but I thought you might get a choice..

Yes Natasha you have it right. If the schedual says Dog CC & Bitch CC then all dogs entered in those classes are eligible if they win their class to enter the challenge for the Chalenge Certificates. You can't opt out. Hope that helps. Jackie H

Natasha

the CC or Challenge Certificate is what we are all aiming for. At a Championship show a CC may be on offer for your breed, or if it is a breed specific Championship show then CC's will be on offer. Why would you not want your two year old to be in for the CC? In reality, by entering in the show you are entering for the CC. You may well have a realistic view in that you would not get sufficiently placed - ie totally unbeaten throughout the show. It's not something you would "opt-out" of. I would be stunned to get anywhere near a CC at the mo.

Are you thinking how you would handle two if they both got through? That's where a friend could come in to handle one of them for you.

I know my older one won't get anywhere, she has too many faults !!!! It's just so expensive aswell, I was just looking at the Paington schedule and its £20 per dog, for me travelling from Jersey, it all mounts up, with the ferry costing nearly £300 for 4 days. I just thought that with the better one enter with the CC and the other one without.

But I shall just have to enter both for the CC. Its a waste of time going all that way for one dog !! Although others might disagree....

You could always enter your older bitch "Not for competition" - that way she could come with you & have a bench allocated for her, but you wouldn't have to show her at all. Also at the summer Champ shows, there is generally a tent for unentered dogs where the dogs are looked after by volunteers in return for a charitable donation. This way your older girl could again come with you but you wouldn't have to pay an entry fee (do check with the Show Sec that there will be a tent for unentered dogs though)

Oh! I'd find it a good reason to have another puppy - then you could leave the 2 yr old at home and take with you 2 dogs you were happy to show at a championship show. It is silly to pay the high fee for a dog that you know is not up to standard, if she was mine I would not show her a championship level, just open shows and the rest of the time just love her. I think I might do that in the future, as every time we go in the ring, she gets chucked out!! I'm not bothered about being thrown out, don't get me wrong, its just if you know your dog is not of good standard, its silly to waste the money. She loves showing though, although I have started doing agility with her which see seems to relish in, so as you say Jackie and Jane, I might just stick to open and local shows. I would love to get another pup!!, but with 2 horses aswell, I think I might be stretching myself !!!!

I just entered SKC and got a shock at the cost. Don't know why cos I've entered SKC before but I'm a member so they kindly deducted £1.50 off my first entry, I then decided to enter the Novice class as I'm eligible, £5 for each subsequent class. Flipping Heck I'll need to take a bank loan out at this rate ;-)

Anyone done the online entry, what did you think ? I thought it pretty good however I completed the handler bit as well then realised I didn't need to but it wouldn't let me delete it :-( Fosse Data thanked me for pointing out the little blip and are looking into it. Not heard anything back yet though.

Bear is entered for the worldwinners show in Holland in July. One class entry & one extra pass = £69  ....the extra pass was 9 euros/£5

And I'm grumbling about paying 30 quid

Least I don't have the travelling expenses your're gonna have  How are you planning to travel anyway?

Tunnel and drive. At least we have 'free' lodgings with friends ;-)

I am going with a coach party, herd syndrome, I am hoping if something goes wrong we are all in it together, and should be able to work out the vet thing for return, as I suppose all the folk will go together to get the ticks and tapes meds, and forms signed!

I figured that if people from the continent came over on saver tickets (48 hour returns and the like) they would be better entering our southern shows than some of their own! Maybe the likes of southern Counties will start running coaches from dover for Foot passengers! Though I suppose you can't bring dogs over as a foot passenger?
